Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra Rant

I saw a post on one of the wiki pages somewhere that asked something along the lines of "who is the most beautiful of all the girls in A:TLA and LoK, who is the most handsome," and so on. There was a lot of input, but I saw something pop up a lot that Azula was the prettiest. I don't remember who was thought as of the most handsome (that was all over the board), but for some reason the answers kind of stuck to me.

Personally, growing up with the series, when it first came out (and I had this instinctive feeling that this show was going to be good, even from the first episode), I always thought Katara was the prettiest. Not only was she pretty with blue eyes, that of which someone on the boards described as "a warm ocean", I give credit to whomever that was, but she had a compassionate motherly instinct that made her more beautiful. It was the kind of beauty that stayed with her as she aged in LoK, but I'll cover that later.

Anyway, as the show progressed and Toph was introduced, she became my instant favorite and for some reason I felt like I really could relate to her character.

As for the other gender, I always thought Aang was cool because he was gentle and had a good personality. Waking up after a hundred years to an almost completely different world with no one you know could easily make a person sour and angry. While Aang grieved, he learned quickly to make friends and always seemed to have a positive outlook on things, which is admirable.

While I don't think I caught it the first time it aired how many years ago, now that I am older I think Haru is my favorite. As a character sympathizes with Katara when she discloses the information about her mom being taken by the Fire Nation. He also greets the gaang warmly after about two years of being apart at the invasion, and really appreciates his dad (though he got frustrated with his mom, it's understandable because they were in unfavorable circumstances with the fire nation, and given the character development he probably loves her just as much).

Quick! Act natural!

Additionally, after Zuko had a change of heart I liked his character more too. The change really gave depth and taught a good lesson about how it's never to late to do the right thing and make new friends that really care about you. Aside from that, Uncle Iroh is also a favorite because he was patient with his nephew and was his dad in a way. Also, Iroh's cool because of his "tale of Ba Sing Se" where he cheered up the crying little boy and encouraged the man who almost mugged him to follow his dreams.

Besides that, who doesn't like a good rousing cup of jasmine tea?

FIN. for now.
